IROVER® Geiger (GM) Sensor Interface

$189.00

Description

The Medcom IROVER module set a new standard for efficiency and performance in the radiation detection world.  At an operating voltage of 3.3 Volts it delivers 495 Volts with precision regulation while consuming less than 100 µA of quiescent current.   This allows radiation detection instruments to operate for extremely long periods of time on battery or solar power.  IROVER is optimized for the LND7317 pancake GM sensor and can be modified for use with the LND712 GM tube on request (please specify which version you need when ordering).   IROVER also processes the pulses produced by ionizing events and outputs a square wave digital output (CMOS/TTL compatible) at 3.3 Volts for each detected event.

Our tiny and super efficient iRover is designed for mission critical applications that require precision, reliability, long battery life and longevity.  Many years of research and development and constant refinement have resulted in this high performance device.

Pin 3 – 3.0 to 3.3 Volts DC nominal

iRover is a professional board level solution for powering Geiger Mueller tube-type radiation detectors, and includes an interface for signal processing of detected ionizing events. The front end is emi/rfi resistant with built-in jam protection for high radiation levels.

iRover is the product of 40 years of radiation detector system design, applied research and optimization by the Medcom team, led by our Founding Chief Engineer, Steve Weiss BSEE, with Kent Noonan and Dan Sythe.

Quiescent current is a remarkable 90 microamps typical at 3.3 Volts DC input, for total power consumption of 300 microWatts, enabling incredibly long battery life on small battery power.

While the iRover is optimized for 3.0 to 3.3 V it will tolerate a voltage supply of up to 4.2 Volts but high voltage precision will be lost. Check your GM tube to make sure you are operating in the plateau region.
